Hello Wildcats!πΎ
Dear Wildcats Families, Staff, and Community,
Youngblood Intermediate sits at a remarkable moment in a child's life β that in-between space where the foundations of elementary school are still fresh, and the independence of middle school is just ahead. It is a privilege to step into that space with your children.
I come to this work with a few beliefs I carry close. I believe the adults in a building grow alongside the students. When we invest in teachers and staff, children feel it in every classroom, every hallway, every interaction.
I believe a child has to feel safe before they can truly learn. Culture is not something we hang on a wall. It lives in how we greet each other, how we handle hard moments, and whether every child walks through our doors knowing they belong here. I believe in paying attention β to the numbers and to the nuance behind them. Data shows us where to look. But your children, your families, and our teachers tell us what it actually means.
These beliefs will guide my first 90 days at Youngblood β and long after. I am coming in to listen first, to understand what already works, and to build with this community rather than for it.
The work ahead has four commitments woven through it: Listen & Learn. Assess & Align. Build & Launch. Communicate & Connect.
Not steps. Not a checklist. A promise to show up with intention β together.
Mrs. Lauren Ford
Youngblood Intermediate Principal
