Welcome to Youngblood's Art Class!

I have more than 19 years of experience teaching intermediate art and they all been here at Youngblood.

My purpose for teaching art is to share my love for art, teach my skills to students, and to help my students be successful in all things. I want my students to know that art is for everyone. No two people are alike and no two art styles are alike. Art is an expression of each students' personal creative style and I want my art class to reflect that style.

I have taught in Alief ISD for over 24 years, Elementary through Intermediate School, as a General Music & Choir specialist. I play several instruments which include piano, organ, drums and ukelele. The joy that I get from teaching is that music allows each student to experience musical arts in so many different facets, from musical appreciation, musical interpretation and composing, to musical performances. Each aspect requires the student to be holistically involved to the best of their ability.

Welcome, Youngblood families and students!

I have over 20 years of teaching experience as an orchestra director at Youngblood Intermediate.

My primary instrument is the string bass but, I also play and teach: violin, viola, and cello.

I am passionate about teaching orchestra because I love seeing the growth in my students both as musicians and as individuals. I believe my job is not only to teach students how to play a string instrument but to also show them how wonderful music can truly be.

Greetings Youngblood Intermediate Parents and Students and welcome to the Band page. My name is Vicki Glenn and I am proud to be a Youngblood Intermediate Wildcat in Alief ISD.

I have more than 25 years of experience teaching band with more than 8 years in service as the Band Director at Youngblood Intermediate. I earned my Bachelor of Music degree & Master degree of Arts degree from West Texas A&M University and I am certified to teach All-Level music.

My passion for music, especially instrumental music, began in 1981 when I chose to play the trumpet in beginning band. The adventure continues; helping students connect with the joy that music adds to our lives is always at the forefront of my teaching. I look forward to sharing this with you and your child.
